In Transit
When I moved to Chicago, I became very interested in the ways that I navigated and interacted with my new environment. I began recording the routes that I walked between my apartment and studio and the detours I made along the way. Afterwards, I literally retraced my steps over the course of one month and created a series of 30 small maps that reveal information about my weekly routine, downtown road closures or holiday travel schedule. Of interest: I continued this project when I moved to New York. My New York transit maps are expanded to indicate mode of transport and the number of times I visit a particular landmark during a fixed period of time.
